CRNA Together/ARK & Advocate Aurora

Lutheran General Hospital Start-Up Overview

HOSPITAL ISSUE

In March of 2023, Advocate Aurora Medical Group (AAMG) received notice from their outside anesthesia vendor group has given them 90 days’ notice of termination of their contract. The anesthesia program is a daily 40 rooms (points of service) contract at Advocate Lutheran in Chicago. AAMG needed to completely replace all existing anesthesia providers as they were non-competes involved. AAMG turned to CRNA Together and our sister locum’s physician staffing company, ARK Staffing Solutions, to fully staff the anesthesia services for the hospital.

Solution:

CRNA Together and ARK leveraged our vast network of anesthesia providers to work locum tenens with us at this site and when the program changed from the previous AAMG vendor group to AAMG managing the anesthesia program internally, all points of service are being met by 1099 locums clinicians from CRNA Together and Ark Staffing Solutions. Today all 40 points of anesthesia service that are needed daily are being met by clinicians of CRNA Together and ARK.

How did it Work?

The leadership of CRNA Together and the Regional/C-suite leadership of Advocate Aurora Medical Group developed a transparent, trusting relationship that collaborated and quickly evaluated and accepted over 60 anesthesia clinicians who cover 40 points of service each day at Advocate Lutheran hospital in Chicago. Key components and Best Practices of the relationship are weekly conference calls where CRNA Together and ARK leadership meet with AAMG leadership and discuss candidates in process, candidate scheduling, any clinical areas of improvements from the 1099 anesthesia contractors and locums to permanent clinicians.
